Christina Capadona-Schmitz is a marketing communications leader with over two decades of professional experience. With early career experiences in PR, advertising, marketing and journalism, today she blends a strategic mix of media, digital technologies, sales enablement, and client experience into her corporate administration practice. Schmitz is Chief Marketing Officer for Unison Risk Advisors, a high growth, privately held and majority employee-owned insurance brokerage and risk management firm established in 2020. She serves as an executive team member and concurrently as Chief Marketing Officer for Oswald Companies. She oversees the marketing, communications, and sales enablement functions across URA’s collaborative shared services team. She directs the strategy and execution of platform-wide efforts, including: business units, specialty divisions, regional market offices, corporate communications, employee engagement, strategic planning and community relations. She is the founder of OswaldCLIMBS, Oswald’s Young Professional organization and an alumni member and advisor to the Oswald Women’s Leadership Council. She also serves on the Assurex Global Brand Committee and as a Marketing Working Group member of The Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers (CIAB). She serves on the Board of Trustees and marketing committee for St. Edward High School. She has previously served on the Board of Directors for the West Side Catholic Center Cleveland social services agency, the Insurance Industry Charitable Fund (IICF) Ohio Chapter and on the Safe Sleep Heroes committee of First Year Cleveland. Additionally, she has special interests in supporting professionals at all stages of their careers, development and entrepreneurship, with an emphasis on women’s leadership, including: promotion of talents and businesses within communities, protection and reputation management through advancement, and the progression and journey of individuals into leadership. In 2020, Oswald’s mission of caring went mobile. In her role, Christina has led the organization’s strategy and efforts to keep clients, partners, and employees, both informed and engaged, through advanced advisory programs and real-time digital communications. She leads community service initiatives both inside and outside of Oswald. She was the creator and host of C to C: The Commitment to Community podcast series by Oswald Companies. In 2021, Christina led the internal and external communications and media efforts surrounding the firm's largest merger in its 128-year-old history, to form Unison Risk Advisors with RCM&D out of Baltimore. She performed similar advancements in 2022 as the firm launched its first investment partnership. She was promoted to the position of CMO in May 2022 from her previous position of Vice President and Director, Marketing, Communications and Media. She was also the founder of DownWithSpitup.com (2013-2023), an online support system created for parents and caregivers managing infant reflux and related matters, as well as its signature product, the Bib Builder system. She has published on topics including marketing, communications, and leadership, and has served as a guest presenter and panelist member at various business and educational events. She has professional experience in on-camera and voiceover work, serving as a spokesperson in a variety of media.
